1. Who we are
This website is run by Clear Blue Diving Ltd, company number 15541282, registered at 61 Bridge Street, Kington, United Kingdom, HR5 3DJ. Our day to day office is in Bonaire. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at info@clearbluediving.com.
2. What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us.
When you request a quote we collect your name, email address, the travel dates and destination you are interested in, the number of travellers and divers, a description of your diving experience, any extras you tick, and any notes you write. When you join our newsletter we collect your email address. When you book a trip we also collect the billing and travel details needed to make the arrangements, and we keep the invoices and payment records that go with them.
We do not ask for payment card numbers on this website and we never store them.
3. Why we use it
We use enquiry details to answer you and to put together the trip you are asking about. Where you have asked us to arrange a holiday, we are doing what is necessary to prepare and perform that contract. Where you have simply asked a question, we rely on our legitimate interest in replying to you helpfully.
We send the newsletter only with your consent, and every newsletter includes a way to stop it. We keep booking, invoice and accounting records because UK law requires us to.
4. The website assistant
Blue, the small assistant in the corner of the website, answers diving and destination questions. What you type is sent to our AI provider to produce the reply. Please do not type anything sensitive into it, such as medical or payment details. If you are signed in, your conversation is saved to your account so you can pick it up again, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Blue never sees our internal business information.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while they are useful for following up and then removed. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Booking, invoice and accounting records are kept for as long as UK company and tax law requires, normally six years after the end of the relevant financial year.
8. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. You can withdraw consent for the newsletter whenever you like. To do any of this, email info@clearbluediving.com and we will respond within one month.
Where we still need to keep certain records by law, such as invoices for a completed booking, we will tell you which ones and why.
9. Keeping it safe
Enquiries, bookings and documents are held in a private system that only Carmen and authorised Clear Blue Diving staff can sign into, with individual accounts and access levels. Files and pages are served over an encrypted connection.
10. Contact and complaints
Please contact us first at info@clearbluediving.com if anything here concerns you. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If we change this notice we will update the page, and we will tell you directly if the change materially affects you.
