We like Bastianos for divers who care more about the diving than the décor. The three properties put you within easy reach of Bunaken’s walls, Bangka’s soft corals and Lembeh’s black sand, without the price tag of the region’s luxury resorts. Rooms are comfortable and simple, the boats and guides do the important work well, and combining two or three properties gives you a lot of variety for the money. A sensible choice for repeat divers, clubs and small groups.
MORE CHOICE, NOT LESS
You are never limited to one boat or one resort. Here is who else we work with in the same water, so you can compare before you decide.

Inside Bunaken National Park, with the walls a short boat ride away. Simple, comfortable rooms and easy access to some of Indonesia’s best-known reef diving.
An island base for soft-coral pinnacles, gentle reef dives and genuinely quiet surface time. A good pairing with either Bunaken or Lembeh.
On the Lembeh Strait for black-sand muck diving. Unhurried dives, short boat rides and guides who know where the unusual animals live.
Tell Carmen how long you have and what you most want to see, and she will suggest the split of nights, the dive packages and the transfers, then confirm it all with the resort before you book.
PLAN THE JOURNEY
Fly into Sam Ratulangi International Airport (MDC) in Manado. Airport transfers and any boat or road transfers between the properties are arranged by the resort; we will match your flights to the resort transfer days.
Diving runs all year. March to November is usually drier and calmer; December to February can be wetter with more plankton, which often suits critter diving in Lembeh. Bunaken’s visibility is generally best outside the wettest weeks.
